Eek! Can’t believe today is the start of my last week of vacation. A week until school starts! I’m experiencing that sort of feeling I used to have in highschool. That tingly feeling in your stomach, when you’re excited for the new schoolyear to begin, a new year that is filled with new people and new chances. The feeling that you can be anyone you want to be and leave the past year behind. Nowadays I no longer feel the need to reinvent myself again year after year (let alone think for days about what I should wear on my first day!), but the tingly feeling still remains. I’m excited for new things and above all, I’m excited to learn again. I’m curious: are you starting anything new this year? I would like to know about it!
Anyway, last week was a busy one. My boyfriend left for a seven day campingtrip to Norway and I tried my best to keep myself busy. I always feel lonely when I have to sleep alone and my strategy of doing as much as possible so I would not be able to keep my eyes open for more than 5 minutes after my head touched the pillow turned out to be a great success. Most of the days I hung out with one of my best friends (sidenote: don’t you just hate the fact that there are still people in the world who think a male and female can’t have a friendship without being physical? it’s been annoying me lately), playing Mario Kart and watching The Big Bang Theory. We also took a small roadtrip to a forest nearby, found a cute little diner on our way home and were just in time to watch the sun disappear into the sea. I tried out the instagram film option, you can watch it below:
On friday I spent the day with Tara and we took the train to Utrecht to shop and walk around for a bit. Her hair is silver/pastel pink now, in case you were wondering ;-) Saturday I spent some time with my mother at her boyfriends house. He was smoking fish in the garden, jumm, delicious! I know there are a lot of people who don’t like eating fish, but I honestly can’t imagine NOT eating it. I come from a long line of fisher-men, I have a reputation to uphold ;)
Whoops, I’m rambling again.
Currently we are on our way to the airport. My boyfriend is coming home, yess! I wonder how smelly he will be. But first: Ikea! I hope they finally opened up their candywall again, it feels like a little part of Sweden here in Holland & it makes me happy :-)
Have a good week everybody! xx
